Cheddar cauliflower ( <http://www.johnnyseeds.com/p-6317-cheddar-f1.aspx>
view this variety), Macoun apples, pumpkins, winter squash
Who's at the market?
Stow Greenhouses is the rotating vendor. C&C Lobster, Samira's Homemade, and
Nella Pasta are the bi-weekly vendors.
Albert from Narragansett Creamery will not be at the market today; he will
return next week.
Got dull knives?
Patti from On the Edge Knife Sharpening will be at the market from
12:00-3:30PM.
What's left to garden?
Traditionally, October in New England is harvest time, but garlic remains to
be planted. In New England, garlic is best planted from October to November
before the ground freezes. Buy a bulb of garlic at the grocery store or pick
up specific varieties (hard neck? soft neck?) at the garden supply store.
Break off the individual cloves and plant each root-side down. By late
spring, you'll have a bulb for every clove, plus delicious garlic scapes.
What's left to do in the garden? Attend a cool workshop on

049&llr=47sznzbab> seed saving at Waltham Community Farms, and then come
home and save your best varieties for next year.
See you at the market,
Louisa
