No parked cars on BVP, Upland to Cambridge Terrace Sunday afternoon!

We will park a couple of our cars on each end to buffer the cookout guests, but otherwise we need the parking areas and driveways clear for kids activities, ferrets, tables, chairs, etc. We will have all beer/wine on our property (city property verboten!). We need a second big grill if someone nearby has one, assistant grill meister, cold wine/beer/drinks to start (or even ones). Dear neighbors, My hardwood floors are getting redone in late October, and in preparation for that I will need to box many things (books etc), move things around (not furniture, which the floor people will do), empty closets etc. I am looking for someone who can work with me for a few hours between Oct 15 and Oct 17 or 18. And again a few days later to put things back, with me, when the floor job is completed. If you know someone who might be interested, perhaps a young person in the neighborhood, please let me know. CAMBRIDGE, MA — A 10-year-old girl is missing, police announced Monday night. Muna Kebede Shiferaw was last seen around 2:30 p.m. leaving the Peabody School, police said. The school is located at 70 Rindge Avenue. She was wearing green pants and a black and white striped shirt. Muna is described as about 4 feet 2 inches, weighs about 73 pounds, and has braided brown hair. Reminder, the cookout is next Sunday, Oct 1st! Let us know who is coming and what you are bringing. Also, pass along the email, print and distribute the poster, spread the word! Ruth Neighbors, Sorry to be so late getting out an email, but everyone is asking “When is the Buena Vista Social Club cookout?” So, unless someone tells me about a big conflict we did not consider, it will be Sunday, October 1st, 3-7pm! It is key to get as many of our regular BVSC folks as possible, but we also have a bunch of new neighbors and friends to invite, many of whom we don’t have emails for. As usual we will block off a portion of the street -- Buena Vista Park from Upland to Cambridge Terrace. We have lots of kids these days, especially little ones, and we plan to have toys and activities. Older kids could help get out the word to neighboring streets and help us generally in face painting, setting up games, gear, etc. Finally, pray for continued good weather (while planning what to bring for potluck & chairs, tables, canopies, etc.).
