Learn more about a new, affordable rental opportunity in Cambridge New, Affordable Mixed-Income Rental Building Now Accepting Applications until Sunday, December 15, 2019 Finch CambridgeConcord Ave., Cambridge A rendering of Finch Cambridge seen from Concord Ave. Finch Cambridge is developed by Homeowners Rehab, Inc. (HRI) with support from the City of Cambridge. The building's tenant selection process is overseen by Winn Residential. Rental applications are being accepted for Finch Cambridge, a 98-unit apartment building in the Alewife/Cambridge Highlands neighborhood. Units will be filled through a lottery process. Applications will be accepted by Winn Residential through through December 15, 2019. Lottery results will be finalized in early 2020, with move-in dates for tenants expected to be scheduled in Spring 2020. Among many other changes in the region, the following bus routes in Cambridge will change starting Sunday 12/22: Route 64: Service will be extended from peak-hours only to all day on weekdays from Oak Square to Kendall/MIT. Weekend service will continue going to University Park. See the MBTA update on Route 64 here Route 61/70/70A: Route 70A will be eliminated. New Route 61 will be created to replace the route along with additional stops on Route 70. See the MBTA update on Routes 61/70/70A Route 72/74/75: Route 72 will become rush hour only service and will only run in the peak direction. Route 75 will be rerouted from the Fresh Pond Parkway to Huron Ave. to straighten the route and increase frequency. The memo is pretty self-explanatory and I encourage you to read it. There is also a meeting on the issue Tuesday night at 6 PM at the G&P school. If you’d like to come comment on this issue you can sign up by phone between 9 AM and 3 PM Monday at 617-349-4280 or on line via this link and in person from 5-6 PM at the Sullivan Chambers at City Hall. Public comment, limited to three minutes per speaker, starts at 5:30(ish) and lasts at least until 6:00, though if there are enough speakers we often go later. At the end of public comment, people who missed the sign-in window are generally asked if they’d like to speak anyway. The entire Council may be emailed at Council(a)Cambridgema.gov. Staff have identified traffic signal changes that support travel lane reductions and improve the safety for all users. The changes will simplify the overall operation of the intersection; reduce the crossing distance for pedestrians; provide additional plaza space; and simplify the merge for cyclists and motorists travelling towards Porter Square. The driver of the vehicle crashed through a fence and into a tree. The male driver and the male passenger were transported to local hospitals, where the driver was later pronounced dead.
