The hearing will be held at City Hall and will be televised and live-streamed. CDD has created a webpage to explain the citywide zoning proposal. The initial draft zoning and an FAQ sheet are posted there along with materials from recent Housing Committee hearings. Since I last wrote on this issue, a draft affordable housing overlay ordinance has been written by city staff and discussed in the Housing Committee. The Housing Committee may vote today, 4/25, on whether to send the draft zoning to the Ordinance Committee, or to keep it in the Housing Committee. In addition, the City Council is considering adding $20 million to the budget specifically for affordable housing, and we urge you strongly to support this. I encourage residents to review the Affordable Housing Overlay materials and come to the hearing with your preferences, concerns, and questions.
