Come out and help us make some GOOD TROUBLE at Porter Square this Sunday at 10 am! Yes, it's hot. But, we will be standing out Sunday morning at 10 am. Bring your water, wear a hat and sunscreen! Please bring your family, friends, your home-made signs, your masks and join your neighbors at Porter Square to "Stand Out Against Racism" to show how upset we are with institutional racism and the status quo in this country. We welcome ALL of our neighbors and friends to join us. There is plenty of room around the Square and up/down Mass Ave to stay distanced and make an impact on passersby and drivers. Dear Porter Square Neighbors Association, I am writing to share an exciting update on the City’s 19th Amendment Centennial Art Project. Four artists have submitted proposals for the permanent public artwork, to commemorate American women winning the right to vote with the passage of 19th Amendment in 1920 and to recognize the ongoing struggle for voting rights for all. The winning selection will be constructed on Cambridge Common. We are seeking extensive, diverse feedback across the City, and want your input. FOOD DROP OFF TIME: Friday, July 31, from 10am to 4:00pm WHERE: 175 Richdale Ave entrance to CoHousing Please leave items just inside the gate either in a paper bag, small box or in boxes marked FOR CHELSEA. Various ones of us will be around to receive your food donations. THANK YOU!! Please bring items as listed below- this is what is most needed. AND, be sure that all food is in original packaging. Nothing can be open, or re-bagged in any way. if it is, we have to dispose of it. Please note that they are no longer collecting diapers, just food, including Baby Food. Neighbors, We need to stay out there because, although there seems to be some progress on police reform here, the problem of institutional racism must still be kept front and center. As Eva Kasell's sign says "End White Silence"! Perhaps we can think about the Moms On The Front Line being gassed in Portland and bring signs in support of the peaceful protesters there. Please bring your family, friends, your home-made signs, your masks and join your neighbors at Porter Square to "Stand Out Against Racism" to show how upset we are with institutional racism and the status quo in this country.
