COMMUNITY INFO: Bicyclists & Sidewalk Safety

June 29, 2011 – The Cambridge Police Department would like to remind residents that bicyclists are prohibited from traveling on sidewalks in business districts within the City.

This restriction is meant to protect both bicyclists and pedestrians from danger and allow people to move freely about the sidewalks outside of businesses without the fear of being struck, and possibly injured, by a passing cyclist.

For more information on the responsibility that pedestrians, bicyclists, and motorists have to share the roadways in Cambridge, watch the following public service announcement from the Cambridge Police Department available on our YouTube page at http://www.youtube.com/CambridgePolice#p/a/u/1/yx1qWga_Jb8.
