Food trucks are here!

Have you heard?Food trucks have arrived in Somerville! As the City of Somerville considers municipal regulations for a food trucks in a pilot launches in Union Square to explore how such vending might work across the community.

As part of the Thursday evening Swirl and Slice market in Union Square, Union Square Main Streets invited a food truck to serve market customers.  On Thursdays, August 16 and 23 they welcomed Roxy's Grilled Cheese. Known around the country for their participation in the Great Food Truck Race on the Food Network, brothers James and Mike DiSabatino have generated a loyal local following for their sandwiches that show that everything really does taste better with melted cheese.  And those truffle fries... yum!

Beginning September 6, Lefty's Silver Cart takes over with their vegetarian fare featuring local and organic ingredients. Be sure to  try the Elvis: Nutella, (Union Square's own) Fluff, and bananas on buttery toasted Iggy's Pain di Mie. A perfect warm up to September's Fluff Festival !
