Hey Everyone:

Here are a few nearby things you might be interested in as Summer winds down.

First, Julius Caesar plays tonight (Thursday night), Friday and Saturday nights at 7:00 PM at Danehy Park near the Sherman Street parking lot. Bring a lawn chair and a picnic dinner (and maybe bug spray and a flashlight to make sure you find your stuff at the end) and prepare to watch Rome fall to pieces. Admission is free and it’s really fun to see classic theater in an outdoor setting.

Second- the Old Time Baseball game is NEXT Thursday, 17 August at St. Peter’s Field on Sherman Street. Pedro Martinez will be there, so expect even bigger crowds than usual. Pre-game festivities begin at 7 PM. Learn more at:http://oldtimebaseball.com/2017-oldtime-baseball-game/

There will be an airplane noise meeting at the Russell Youth & Community Center on Huron Ave in West Cambridge on Thursday, September 7th at 7 PM. We are hoping that the following people will attend to help fill out the discussion: Bill Diegnan and other related Cambridge staff, State Senator Jehlen’s Office, State Representative Hecht’s Office, Congressman Capuano’s Office and Congresswoman Clarks’s Office. As I’ve said before (and as many of you have experienced), addressing the issue of ‘highways’ in the sky that have recently concentrated flights over North and West Cambridge is going to be a long slog, but the more we know about the issue, the better. You can read my notes from a similar meeting in July, in Watertown, here:https://www.craigkelley.org/blog/2017/08/06/craigs-watertown-airplane-noise-meeting-notes-from-25-july-2017

That’s it for now. I hope you enjoy the rest of the Summer.

Craig
