I have a colleague in Amsterdam whose 18 year old daughter is seeking an au pair experience in the US. I'm circulating her information to try to help. She is available in July/August and plans to stay for one year.

For a website she wrote the following letter about herself. (http://www.aupair-world.nl/index.php/aupair_detail?&a=2116607) You can find two pictures there as well.

Her contact details are

Below is a note from Rebecca Keirs - the one seeking a position. ....
My name is Rebecca Kiers, I'm 18 years old now and in my last year high school. With my parents and brother (14) I live in Amersfoort, The Netherlands. We are a close and devoted family. Both my parents work (not full time), therefore my brother and me learned to be independent. At the moment I take care of three kids (5, 8 and 10 years old) after school one day a week. They are wonderful kids and I have a lot of fun with them. Apart from children I like to sing, play the violin, listen to music, read and ride horses.

On Saturday I work in a supermarket as a cashier. After high school, before studying at university, I want to take a gap year. Because I love children and I would like to experience the American culture and meet new people and friends, my conclusion is: become an au pair! When I was a little girl we had three au pairs. I only have good memories of them and I hope I can give your children the same experiences.

Since I was a young girl I liked to dance and make music. I've played the violin for 7 years, did ballet for 8 years. Now I sing in a band with my little brother. I listen a lot to all kinds of music, I like reading a good book, watching a movie and I love horse-riding.
People usually say I'm a modest person. I work in a supermarket, where I learned to be always patient, polite, friendly with a smile and also learned to take initiative.

Yours sincerely,
Rebecca
