Subject: [NorthCommons] From a friend - looking for volunteers in Cambridge to form a support team for Asylum seeker with new baby
Hi all, I am looking for folks in and around Cambridge, MA who can join a support team for an asylum seeker and her newborn baby who will be arriving in MA sometime in the next month.
The commitment is a weekly check in call and taking on some role in support.
The various needs are:
- interpreters
- making medical appointments
- fundraising
- finding legal support
- providing or finding rides
- childcare / babysitting during appointments/etc
- navigating community resources
- friends who speak spanish!
- people who can help her navigate public transportation
- anything else!
