This free workshop is designed for high school students interested in our Photography program. It introduces students to the basics of studio portraiture, using commercial strobes, and making 8” x 10" paper negatives with a large format camera. Students will come to our new building in Cambridge and experience our state of the art studio facilities and darkrooms. During the workshop, students will have the opportunity to look through the ground glass of a field camera, get a feel for the way people photographed before the digital age, and create paper negatives as they make portraits. High school students will also be introduced to our darkroom facilities where they will process the paper negatives they created in the studio, and make prints to take home. Lesley University will provide all materials for the workshop.
