Tonight, Thurs., March 18, 7 pm, there is a candidates' night for this seat -- according to the sponsors of tonight's event, the only one in Cambridge. Here is the email I got ten minutes ago (otherwise, I would have passed this along sooner). The Cambridge Senior Center is almost across from Cambridge City Hall. The sponsors are the Cambridge Ward Six Democratic Committee. At the end I am listing the Camb wards and precincts that are in this MA Senate district. Astrid Dodds (start of forwarded email) The only candidates forum in Cambridge for the upcoming special election for our vacant state senate seat is tonight (Thursday) at 7:00 pm at the Cambridge Senior Center, 806 Massachusetts Ave in Central Square. All six remaining candidates in the race for the Democratic nomination which will be decided at the special primary election on April 13 -- Chelsea businessman Michael Albano; Cambridge attorney Dennis Benzan; Everett Councillor and senate staffer Sal DiDomenico; former Norfolk County prosecutor and Cambridge attorney Tim Flaherty; Charlestown attorney Dan Hill; and Cambridge City Councillor and recent Mayor Denise Simmons -- have confirmed their participation. Forum attendees are invited to submit questions for the candidates at the start of the evening. Doors will open at 6:30 pm. Cambridge is an important part of the Middlesex, Essex & Suffolk senate district. Don't miss this opportunity to hear all of the candidates in this very brief special election cycle!
