Hi Folks, We're writing from Skinny Dip Farm, our small organic farm in Westport MA, to let you know that we are planning to deliver organic vegetables and pasture-raised chicken to Avon Hill St Cambridge next Saturday, 11/16. If you're interested read on for details.
If you would like our vegetables and/or chicken you must place an order with us, over email, by Thursday night (11/14). We will not be bringing extra, so you must order in advance. We will be at 109 Avon Hill Cambridge from 12-2pm on Saturday 11/16 to sell you any veggies and chicken you have ordered. You must show up during that time, or we'll have to take your order back to the farm with us.
All vegetables are grown by us and are certified organic
Here's what we have to offer:
Option 1: an"Eat Like A Farmer" Box. A CSA style collection of what we have lots of. The box will include a diversity of salad makings as well as vegetables suitable for cooking, we're just not sure exactly what will be in it. Your reward for giving up choice is a discount. We'll pack $30 worth of veggies for $25.
Option 2: order a la carte:

We also have chicken for sale (only available frozen). We raise our birds out on pasture in a mobile "chicken tractor" style floorless pen which we move daily so that the birds always have fresh grass and forage. In addition they are fed surplus and gone by produce (they are especially fond of tomatoes and watermelon) as well as certified organic feed. We raise the chickens as part of our fertility building plan, moving them over an acre of cover crop/ fallow ground each year to add lots of fertility for the following season. Conveniently they are also super delicious.
whole birds are $5.50/ lb. Average weight is in the 4-6 lb range. Please specify smaller or larger if you have a preference. Right now we have a slower growing red variety that we favor for its rich flavor. It'll be a little different than what is usually available (a little less breast meat and bigger legs and thighs) but still tender and suitable for any type of cooking. We like to roast them and the stock made with whatever doesn't get eaten is truly superior.
Parts: (available on a first ordered first filled basis)
boneless skinless breast (.5 - 1 lb pkg) $14 per lb
whole legs, 2/ pkg (approx. 2 lbs/ pkg) $8/ per lb
wings $6/ per lb
necks, great for making stock $3/ lb
If you would like to place an order with us, please do so by emailing us at skinnydipfarm@yahoo.com. Our next delivery is planned for the Tuesday before Thanksgiving (11/26). ...please feel free to pass this email on to your friends and neighbors who may be interested.
