Good Afternoon,
I hope this email finds you well.
You are receiving this email since you have expressed interest in the MBTA’s Porter Square Retaining Wall Repairs Project. Work began in September of 2020 and will continue until the Summer of 2021. The station will remain open during construction.
Please see the attached flyer which summarizes the construction activities.
Our Contractor is continuing with their pre-construction survey work this week and anticipate the sheet pile driving portion of this work to start next week, the week of October 19th, and continue for approximately 2 weeks. Neighbors can expect increased noise and periods of vibration from heavy equipment and machinery during the sheet pile driving installation work. This work will occur during the daytime hours, primarily Monday-Friday between 7am-4pm.
The MBTA is in the process of scheduling a Virtual Public Meeting for this work, anticipated to take place the first week of November. Notices will be distributed to stakeholders and the community in the upcoming weeks with meeting details and how to register.
We appreciate your continued cooperation and patience as we work to complete these critical safety based infrastructure repairs. If you would like more information on the project please check the web site: https://www.mbta.com/portersqrepairs
Should you have questions or concerns about construction please contact the Project Team directly at: PorterSqROWRepairs@mbta.com
