Huntington On Huntington

We are grateful for the tremendous outpouring of support in the past few months after the announcement was made that the Huntington Theatre Company and Boston University were ending our 33-year partnership and BU was selling the BU Theatre complex.

Be assured that the Huntington will continue to produce world class theatre at both the BU Theatre and the Calderwood Pavilion for the remainder of the 2015-2016 season and throughout the 2016-2017 season. And no matter what happens with the BU Theatre complex beyond 2017, the Huntington will continue to produce ambitious, large-scale works and expand our services to the community. (Read our frequently asked questions for more information.

Last week, The Boston Globe reported that a developer has been identified as the potential buyer of the BU Theatre complex and that we have been actively engaged in discussions to find a solution to keep the Huntington on Huntington Avenue. In response to the article, our colleagues at MASSCreative, StageSource, ArtsBoston, and the Fenway Alliance launched a campaign to keep the #HuntingtonOnHuntington.

Your support means a lot to us. Please add your voice to the campaign:

- Add your name to the #HuntingtonOnHuntington Statement of Support
- Spread the word by encouraging others to add their names to the #HuntingtonOnHuntington campaign.

As our colleagues have made clear, keeping the Huntington on Huntington Avenue in our artistic home of 33 years is a vital issue, crucial to the ecology of Boston’s theatre community. The past few months have been a terrific reinforcement for us of how important our work is to so many people, and in making Greater Boston a better place for all. Thank you!
