Ta-Nehisi Coates to Open Voices for Justice Series

Cambridge, MA, March 16 -- Ta-Nehisi Coates, best-selling author and journalist, will kick off the Voices for Justice series, a collaboration between the Cambridge Public Library and the Cambridge Public Library Foundation, on March 23, 2021, from 7:30-8:30 p.m. Coates will be in conversation with Callie Crossley, the host of Under the Radar with Callie Crossley, which airs on Sunday evenings from 6-7 p.m. on WGBH, 89.7 FM.

Coates is the author of the New York Times #1 bestseller Between the World and Me, which was adapted into an HBO Original Special last year, and The Water Dancer. Coates is currently the author of Marvel’s Black Panther and Captain America series and has been tapped to write the new Superman film for DC Extended Universe. Registration is required to participate in this event.

The Voices for Justice series explores racial and social justice through the words of celebrated Black authors and diverse activists from across greater Boston. The second event in the Cambridge Public Library Foundation's Voices for Justice series will consist of a roundtable discussion featuring local activists and community leaders and a free virtual screening of the documentary film, John Lewis: Good Trouble. Registered attendees will receive a link to watch the film prior to the roundtable discussion on April 13, from 7:30-8:30 p.m.

The third event in the series will feature Pulitzer-Prize winner Isabel Wilkerson, author of The Warmth of Other Suns and Caste, in conversation with Callie Crossley on May 11, from 7:30-8:30 p.m. All events in the series are free and open to the public.

Registration is required to participate in the event on March 23.
