The complete story, as I probably confused some of you:
Christine saw the guy briefly the day the break-in happened, and I was walking up the hill, with my grandson, past the scene and the cops minutes later. He had parked his bike out front (believe that?) and headed around back. She thought it was odd as she knew Nan was gone, but thought with the bike parked out front, it was someone they knew coming to stay or something. She got a pretty good look at him and gave a description to the police.
Christine is on one side of Nan, I am on the other; so this is all a little too close to home.

How does she know this is the man who broke into Nan’s house?

Hi Ruth,
I was in my car yesterday driving on Upland, close to the corner of Newell and coincidently I saw the man who broke into Nan’s house. I pulled over and watched him as he pretended to be on this cell phone and then go around to the back of the house. I called the police and they were able to catch him in the act! The kids were in the car with me and I had to keep circling around because of the one way street. They were very excited as was I. From what I understand, he’s known to police, a drifter, so hopefully he’ll be out of circulation for a while.
Best to you. Christine
