Dear Neighbors,

The message below is part of a longer, more personal, message to me.  I met Claire Chase, a classical flautist who was performing at a music festival. She is a professor at Harvard in the music department, but spends only about a night a week. She would like to rent an apartment, short term.

Hi Claire,

We are still relishing your marvelous performance on Friday. The Balter Pan was a revelation in new music. And, you got such an ovation from all our white-headed music buffs!!

I am not sure my neighbor will want to rent for only three months, but I will ask her. In the meantime, if you can tell me which months you would need, I can send requests to my neighborhood Listserves, which range from Harvard to Porter Squares and a bit beyond — both sides of Mass. Ave. We can see what happens.

I mentioned that we had a flautist neighbor some 45 years ago. His name, which it took both my husband and me to conjure up, was Robert Stallman. I googled him and discovered that he actually died this last May.

Do have a really great rest of the summer and let me know what you want to do.
