Reminder—Clean Up Porter Square & Mass Ave, Thursday, August 29, noon to 4:00! See the attached flyer and map. We will have brooms, gloves, trash bags, etc.. which can be picked up if you meet us at the Porter Square MBTA plaza (Agassiz will also have some at Mass/Sacramento). We also ask, if you have them, for you to bring your own. An RSVP will give us an idea of how many volunteers we have, and the best place to assign volunteers along the Avenue. Just reply to this email! We will be pulling up the grass and and picking up/sweeping up along our “main street”, Mass Ave from Beech St. to Shepard St. We need more captains (to supervise volunteers), and more volunteers, to assign to different spots along the Avenue. We will have 18 Harvard student volunteers for their “Day of Service”.  Help us deploy these energetic volunteers in the most efficient way. There will be a group of volunteers from St. James Church at Beech St.; several groups will be fanning out around Porter Square; another group in front of the new Frost Terrace site (1791), thanks to Capstone; another group at Mass Ave/Sacramento St., thanks to Agassiz Neighborhood; and, finally, a group working with the merchants down toward Shepard St. Phoebe Sinclair (of Agassiz) and I will be the main contact persons.
