Dear Friends,
Over the past several months, City Councillor Sumbul Siddiqui and I have partnered with Dr. Darnisa Amante from the Disruptive Equity Education Project (DEEP) for a series of community meetings called: Cambridge Digs DEEP. These conversations have focused on issues of white privilege, racism and what it means to live in a diverse community.
On Saturday, April 27, 2019 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at CRLS, we will be hosting the last of this series with Dr. Amante (other conversations with other facilitators are being scheduled). If you are interested in attending, please visit the Facebook Event Page at: https://www.facebook.com/events/2032978216751696/ to help us with a head count. If you don't wish to RSVP, that's okay, just show up.
We also recommend for those who have not been able to participate thus far, that you visit the Mayor's Cambridge Digs DEEP page at: https://www.cambridgema.gov/Departments/mayorsoffice/cambridgedigsdeep to catch up on what we have talked about so far.
This event is titled: The Cambridge Digs DEEP "Exploring, Learning and Next Steps" is the culminating session of this series with Dr. Amante. It will be an opportunity to review and respond to themes that have emerged throughout the series, connect with one another, reflect on our learning and what personal actions we can begin to take, as well as hear from city officials about potential next steps.
Child care and food will be provided. There is limited free parking in the CRLS parking garage on Ellery St.
I hope to see you there!
