Good Afternoon,
On Monday, April 25, the MBTA’s contractor, Walsh Construction, will begin excavation of an access structure at the intersection of Somerville Ave and White St as part of the Porter Square Station Elevator Improvement Project. The work will begin at 7 PM on Monday evening, 4/25, and continue until complete (about 48 hours). Over the next 18 months the access structure will be utilized during the night shift only (9 PM-4 AM) so there should be minimal impact to the traveling public during these hours. At the conclusion of the project the access structure will be removed.
The MBTA and Walsh Construction will distribute notices to the abutters this week, and will continue to provide updates as construction progresses.
Please refer to the attached notice for more information and contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
Thank you,
Kelly
