We'll be there, rain or shine! In addition to our weekly vendors, this week we welcome Fastachi, Culinary Cruisers, C&C Lobster, Samira's Homemade, and Nella Pasta. About these vendors: Culinary Cruisers (Somerville, MA): Josh will be serving up kombucha from a tap and small-batch popsicles with flavors like ginger grapefruit and coconut pineapple. C&C Lobster (Hull, MA): As fresh as you can get - all of Carolyn and Chris' lobsters and fish are caught the morning of the market. Fastachi, Ltd (Watertown, MA): Fruits, seeds, and nuts: roasted, raw, and dried. Nut butters in flavors you wouldn't believe, like hazelnut, pistachio, and cashew. Nella Pasta (Boston, MA): Ravioli with locally sourced ingredients. This year, Rachel and Leigh are bringing olive oil to the market, too! Samira's Homemade (Belmont, MA): Lebanese and Egyptian spreads like muhammara, ful medammes, hummus, and grape leaves, and more. All delicious. Plus, at this week's market, learn more about chickens!
From 12:30-1:30 PM, stop by the market manager table (at the South end of the market) to talk with Tessa Desmond about backyard chickens! Tessa will be on site to answer all your questions about coop building, chicken feeding, and everything else that it takes to keep chickens in your backyard. She'll also have some eggs on hand to compare the egg quality of pasture-raised and conventional chickens.
At 7 PM, Harvard University Dining Services and the Harvard Museum of Natural History are sponsoring a free screening of the PBS documentary The Natural History of the Chicken. Haller Hall, Room 102 (first floor of 24 Oxford Street). Come by to learn all about chickens, from their life cycle to the modern-day poultry industry. See you at the market! Louisa ++++++++ The market meets in front of the Harvard Museum of Natural History, at 26 Oxford Street, every Tuesday, RAIN OR SHINE, from June 19-October 30, 12:00-6:00 pm. The market accepts WIC & SFMNP coupons and SNAP (food stamps). Are you a <https://www.facebook.com/harvardfarmersmarkets> fan of us on Facebook?
