The City of Cambridge is seeking poems for its fourth annual Sidewalk Poetry Contest. Winning poems will be imprinted into the fresh concrete of new sidewalks around the city beginning in fall 2018. Cambridge residents of any age are invited to submit one poem of their own work to the 2018 Cambridge Sidewalk Poetry Contest between Feb. 20 to March 20, 2018. The inaugural contest attracted over 300 submissions from residents ranging in age from 4 to 95 years, demonstrating the ageless appeal of poetry. The deadline for submissions is 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, March 20, 2018. For more information and to submit a poem, please visit cambridgema.gov/sidewalkpoetry Poems will be reviewed by a selection committee composed of three past Cambridge Poets Populist, a student from Cambridge Rindge and Latin School, and representatives from Cambridge Public Works, Cambridge Public Library, and Cambridge Arts. Winning poets and runners up will be invited to read at the Poetry Tent at the annual Cambridge Arts River Festival on June 2, 2018.
