Right now they re very happy to have new, unwrapped toys for Christmas gifts. After Christmas we will get back to the question of used toys. They' re very happy to have gift cards. Besides the Friday delivery happening this week my husband and I are going to Chelsea to take the books on Tuesday morning, leaving cohousing at 10AM. We are happy to take new toys and gift cards at that time. People could get them to me by 9:30 AM on Tuesday or maybe they could get them to you and I would come pick up on my way Tuesday morning? What do you think. I will be home on Monday to accept delivery as well. thanks so much! Most of us (on my various lists) would buy a new toy, or gift card (and I am happy to publicize) for kids who’s families don’t have money for food and diapers, much less Christmas. Also, some like me have toys (used, but very good) to part with as the grandkids have ou-grown them, plus we don’t keep the kids anymore. I used to give such toys to pre-schools in the neighborhood. That won’t work now. And, as to used toys, I picked/cleaned up plenty of them from the street and deployed them for my grandkids. There is no shame in re-using good clothes/ household items/toys! In fact, our poor earth could use more of that. And is it necessary to do it before the Christmas holidays? If it can wait until January I am happy to ask the folks in Chelsea is they would like to receive used but in good condition toys. I will be in Chelsea to deliver the wonderful collection of children’s books we have early next week and can ask in person at that time. I am not coming up with anything off top of my head. the Quaker Meeting where i attend has done this in past, but not this year due to COVID. wondering if this is case for other faith communities.... ? sigh... Anne, any ideas? Polly On Tue, Dec 15, 2020 at 11:36 AM Ruth Ryals <rryals@comcast.net> wrote: Polly, Do you know where one can donate toys in good condition, but not brand new?
