Re: [Neighbors] Yard Waste -we have patience, but how long?

Thanks Owen. We will try to be patient, and I am aware that there was an unusually large dump of leaves over the weekend. We will try to be patient. We had fully expected that there would be issues during the launch of the new contractor and have asked for people's patience as he beds in. The project was publicly bid and is costing significantly more than the previous contact so from our perspective its not a question of financial resources but rather it's an issue for the contractor to properly adopt to the demands of the job. Again I do appreciate your patience and that of your neighbors and I recognize with everything else that's going on this is something none of us need, Thanks, Owen -----Original Message----- From: Ruth Ryals <rryals@comcast.net> Sent: Tuesday, November 17, 2020 1:40 PM To: PSNA <portersquare@googlegroups.com> Cc: Service Requests <theworks@cambridgema.gov>; O'Riordan, Owen <ooriordan@cambridgema.gov> Subject: Yard Waste -we have patience, but how long? Importance: High Like most of you, if you are on SeeClickFix, my Inbox has been flooded with "yard waste pickup missed" this week, seemingly from all over the Porter Square/Avon Hill area. That includes virtually ALL of the two streets we can see, Buena Vista Pk and Upland Rd. Last week, it was a widespread "recycling pickup missed". All of these notices seem to have a canned response "Sorry we missed... we will get it the next day" acknowledgement directly from Save that Stuff, not the city. I realize there is a new collector, presumabl of everything, but who at the city is watching this? Could someone from the city weigh in and tell us that this will be fixed and when? Otherwise, I think most of us will be getting off SeeClickFix, which is useful otherwise. And, we will all start bombarding DPW with our complaints. https://www.cambridgema.gov/Services/CurbsideCollections Ruth
