However, it is not quite as effective as it was, perhaps because the volume of new phone numbers created by robocallers may be increasing faster than Nomorobo can keep up with them. This very recent Globe article discusses robocaller blocking efforts and Nomorobo specifically. https://www.bostonglobe.com/business/2019/02/21/license-kill-robocalls-the-p... _**************************_._,_.___ ._, I set up nomorobo for my parents, who have a Verizon landline, and it was free. That was in NJ. It catches the vast majority of robocalls, but the phone rings once before it catches them. They love it. I believe you can get it for cell phones, or any phone, but there may be a slight cost if the phone carrier doesn't include it. There's also this company that keeps telemarketers on the line and harasses them. It's hysterical. I haven't tried it yet, personally. But you can listen to their audio clips for a good laugh. https://jollyrogertelephone.com -------- Original Message -------- Subject: [NorthCommons] Nomorobo call blocking thru Comcast From: "Helen Solorzano “ Hi I logged on to check my Comcast bill and noticed that there is a free robe call blocking service available called Nomorobo. I just set it up so I don’t know how well it works yet but if you have a Comcast landline, set this up by logging onto your account, clicking the “Voice” tab and then clicking the link under “Block telemarketers with Nomorobo” — then you have to follow a short setup to get it working. I know a lot of people don’t have landlines anymore (which if you are on Comcast I think is not really a “landline" since it goes thru your modem) but that is a different topic. I want to share b/c I didn’t know this service was available. Helen ___
