PSNA Meeting on the upcoming budget negotiations - April 18, 7-9 pm!

Save the Date! On behalf of the chairs of the Finance Committee, for this meeting, we are inviting our neighbors in North and West Cambridge to attend. Questions can be sent, in advance, to the co-chairs who will be in attendance (or asked that evening): *Patricia Nolan* *pnolan@cambridgema.gov <pnolan@cambridgema.gov>* *&* *JOAN PICKETT* *jpickett@cambridgema.gov <jpickett@cambridgema.gov>* Co-chairs, Finance Committee Cambridge City Council *********************************************************************** *PSNA Meeting - 4/18, 7-9 pm, in person and on zoom* Residents sometimes [or often?] feel they don’t understand the city’s budget and/or don’t know how to give input. The co-chairs of the Finance Committee, Councillors Nolan and Pickett, have asked to attend our 4/18 PSNA meeting to discuss the FY25 budget which is in development. The recent past period of growth allowed large increases in spending and expansions of programs. Now, the downward shift in our underlying economy and an increase in operating expenses and debt levels leads to a different budget environment. These trends highlight the need to moderate our operating and capital spending in FY25 and FY26 and beyond. The Co-Chairs of the Finance Committee want to share budget background information and hear from the community about our sense of city’s priorities to bring our voices into the upcoming council discussions. Please plan to join us in person on *April 18th, 7-9 pm at Lesley University Hall, 1815 Mass Ave, or on Zoom*, if that is easier. More details to follow. Ruth -- Ruth Ryals raryals@gmail.com
