Ave. are Open to General Public Cambridge, MA - October 16, 2015 --- You may have seen those shiny blue Longwood Medical Area (LMA) buses on Massachusetts Avenue and wondered what they are and if you can ride them. The buses are sponsored by the Medical Academic and Scientific Community Organization (MASCO) to help LMA employees travel to and around the LMA. They are operated by Paul Revere Transportation and serve nearly 12,500 riders each day over 10 different routes. One of the LMA shuttles the M2 route travels between Harvard Square and the LMA via Massachusetts Avenue, with stops at Harvard Square, Central Square, MIT, Kenmore Square, the Fenway Green Line subway station, and various locations in the LMA. The general public can ride the M2 shuttle by purchasing ticketscash is not accepted on board. A ticket to ride cost $3.25. Single or 10-ride tickets can be purchased at Harvard University¹s Smith Campus Center and at various locations in the LMA. The City of Cambridge is pleased to announce that tickets can now be purchased by cash or check at the cashier window on the first floor of City Hall, 795 Massachusetts Avenue. The City encourages the use of transit and other ways to get around other than driving alone. Having M2 tickets available at Cambridge City Hall provides another convenient transportation option for employees, residents, visitors and others in the area. Both Cambridge City Hall and the M2 shuttle are fully accessible for persons with disabilities.
