We now know that people who are socially isolated and lonely are at greater risk for heart disease, depression and other conditions. To address this growing problem that is affecting our most vulnerable neighbors, the Cambridge Public Health Department will be awarding five $500 mini-grants to Cambridge residents to support activities that enhance community well-being and social cohesion in Cambridge neighborhoods. Interested Cambridge residents are strongly encouraged to apply on their own, as a group or in partnership with a community or faith-based organization. Community Well-Being and Social Cohesion Mini-Grants are funded by the Cambridge Public Health Department. Grants are awarded in a competitive process by representatives of community-based organizations and city agencies. Applications must be received by Friday April 26.
