Fwd: [Kenfield-local] Tutoring Plus needs your support

This is a good organization. Volunteer or contribute, or just know about them. Ken is in our neighborhood, and is a great musician.

Friends-
You probably know about my longstanding commitment (as a volunteer tutor, Board member, and officer) to Tutoring Plus of Cambridge (http://tutoringplus.org/ ), a 60-year non-profit that provides free tutoring services to area youth. I'm asking for your support once again, and the need now is even more urgent.
We rejoice that kids are physically back at school. But we know that there are immense challenges facing educators and students. When you read about diminished test scores after 2 years of online schooling, know that this is just the tip of the iceberg - it ignores the real cost of how the pandemic so deeply impacted school aged kids. A friend's daughter works in a middle school. Many students are in person there for the first time. There is no established culture to absorb newcomers. And confusion reigns.
It's all hands on deck. And believe me, Tutoring Plus is on deck. We are providing hundreds of kids 100% free one|one tutoring and mentoring. We’ve always had a waiting list for our services, but this year our waiting list can’t wait. We are ready to add more tutors and open up more tutoring sites throughout the City. But we need your help NOW.
Please go to https://tutoringplus.org/donate/ to help us help the students in our community. We appreciate your support, whether it be $100 or $1000!
Thank you! -Ken ------ Ken Field, Vice President of the Board ken@kenfield.org mailto:ken@kenfield.org http://tutoringplus.org/
