Transit Advisory Committee (Application Deadline April 21, 2017)
This committee advances an agenda for a robust public transportation system for those who live and/or work in Cambridge. The committee is composed of a cross section of stakeholders, which may include individuals representing businesses and large institutions; commuters; persons with disabilities; residents that are low income, elderly, youth, and students as well as transit advocates. The committee advises on city positions and policies regarding long term sustainable funding for transit by the Commonwealth, transit expansion, service planning, and service improvements. This committee generally meets on the first Wednesday of each month from 5:30-7:30 p.m., in Kendall Square area, Room 117, MIT building E25 (E25-117). Applications are sought by dedicated individuals who live or work in Cambridge. Appointments are made by the City Manager and are for two years of service. Applications to serve on any of the above listed committees can be submitted to City Manager Louis A. DePasquale using the City¹s online application system at www.cambridgema.gov/apply and selecting the respective committee(s) of interest. A cover letter and resume or applicable experience can be submitted during the online application process. Paper applications are available in the City Manager¹s Office at Cambridge City Hall, 795 Massachusetts Avenue.
