Man Vs. Machine Match Draws Crowd at MIT | Cambridge Community Television Folks, I just posted a new story to the CCTV website about the three-day man vs. computer match on "Jeopardy!" continuing tonight and tomorrow and MIT"s role in the development of I.B.M.'s "Watson." The first round drew a big crowd at MIT last night, along with an IBM researcher who was part of the development team and had great stories about the strengths and goofs of the computer in test games. Erin McClean, a BU undergraduate who won last year's college Jeopardy! contest, also spoke and had tips for anyone who might want to be a contestant on the game show. I think most of the MIT people are rooting for Watson, but I'm with her--I'd like a human win. Please check it out if you get a chance.
