REMINDER
MassDOT Capital Conversations
WHEN: Thursday, October 22st at 6:30 p.m. WHERE: Cambridge Rindge and Latin H.S –Cafeteria
MassDOT and the MBTA are preparing five-year capital plans, blueprints that will guide investments in our transportation system between 2017 and 2021. The Capital Investment Plan (CIP) determines how we prioritize our largest investments, covering all transportation projects – everything from highway and municipal projects to regional airports and rail and transit, including the MBTA and Regional Transit Authorities.
At our Cambridge meeting we will have Assistant Secretary Kate Fichter, Assistant G.M. for Railroad Operations Bill McClellan, Highway District 6 Project Development Engineer Geri Vatan and Registry of Motor Vehicles Community Outreach Coordinator Michelle Ellicks to discuss any and all issues regarding commuter rail service, RMV, regional airport needs and state highway and bridge issues in the region.
These Capital Conversations will help to guide our five-year Capital Investment Plan process as well as upcoming planning processes for statewide bicycle, pedestrian and rail plans. We want to hear from you about how those investments should be prioritized in order to maintain and modernize the Commonwealth’s transportation facilities.
Long story short – we want to hear from folks in the Greater Cambridge region about what they think our transportation priorities are and how we can improve services around them. There will be short opening remarks but the purpose of the meeting is to listen, answer questions, and collect valuable feedback. Please forward to any community groups or other interested stakeholders
Please feel free to contact me with any questions or comments
Thank you
