One of the issues raised at last night’s PSNA meeting was the “Order” below. I am writing all involved to ask when they can meet with us, the neighbors (businesses, residents and users) to discuss the concept and the issues, hopefully before they come to us with a plan to be validated. Just for reference, you might want to visit the following webpages: https://www.cambridgema.gov/~/media/Files/publicworksdepartment/Engineering… While the Order is about separated bike lanes, there is reason to believe the City are also studying a dedicated bus lane, at least during rush hour(s) at this section of Mass Ave. Both, of course, bring to the fore a host of issues, among them - pedestrian safety, reduction of business/resident parking, etc. Stay tuned. REMINDER PSNA Members and Friends, We have a varied program this time! We welcome representatives of the DPW for both Somerville and Cambridge next Thursday, the 21st, to discuss the issues that come up on the edges where the two city’s meet. Some PSNA members live just feet or a block or so from that divide (including a few whose houses are actually partly in each!). Issues like who is supposed to remove the snow piled up at the end of the sidewalk/road, shoved by one city but perhaps resting in the other city. If you have issues, bring them for some answers. In any case, come discuss with us (and our experts) how to work across boundaries, and perhaps learn something from each other about the best practices and plans of each city.
