As of today, there are 438 Cambridge residents who have tested positive for COVID-19. This case count, provided by the City, now includes all Cambridge residents whether they live in a skilled nursing facility or elsewhere in the city. There are 28,163 cases of COVID-19 in Massachusetts, including 6,254 in Middlesex County. 126,551 patients have been tested, and 957 patients have passed away. Today, Speaker Robert DeLeo announced the launch of an initiative to analyze state policies to assess the existing and emerging needs of domestic violence and sexual assault victims and survivors in the Commonwealth. It will be led in partnership with myself and House Chair of the Joint Committee on the Judiciary Claire Cronin. One will be located at the UMass Lowell recreation center in partnership with Lowell General Hospital and the other will be located at UMass Dartmouth.
