Today we explore all things The Blue Flower, from a newly released production clip to the historical context that informed the piece’s creation. Co-created by Ruth and Jim Bauer and directed by Will Pomerantz, The Blue Flower is a bold musical that—inspired by the rebellious spirit of the Dada movement—fuses song, video, and art in a story of four friends whose lives are forever changed by the ravages of World War I. The Blue Flower premiered in December 2010 at the American Repertory Theater before opening off-Broadway at Second Stage in 2011. @AmericanRep #ExploreTheARTArchives WATCH Newly Released: “Eiffel Tower” Each week the A.R.T. will release a clip from a past production and this week we are sharing “Eiffel Tower” from The Blue Flower, performed by Teal Wicks (Finding Neverland, The Cher Show). When we launched our Explore series and invited our community to request what they would like to see, our first request was from long-time patron Deb A., who said she saw the production four times and has since shared the music with her daughter and nephew who both know the soundtrack by heart. We hope that this brings some joy to Deb—and you all—today.
