My little black bike

has spent most of the last six years locked up and largely unmolested at the corner of Buena Vista Park and Cambridge Terrace. Tonight I found it in this condition: [image: Inline image 1] The wheels were bolted on, so whoever took them had to use a large wrench to get them loose. For six years that apparently daunted potential thieves. My guess is that this was the work of a kid--a pro wouldn't bother with such a cheap bike--but watch out if you lock up outside in the neighborhood. That goes double if you have the common quick release wheels or seatpost which are much easier to steal. Tom Burke (11 Buena Vista Park)

Tom, It makes me very sad to see this happen in our neighborhood. We should all try to be more attentive, and if we hear something, look out, and call the cops if anything anyone appears to be suspicious. Did you make a police report? If not, please do. It may not get your bike back, but it may help track where this is happening, and eventually help catch someone.
